Matt Forouzandy

Matt Forouzandy, born in Iran, is a queer Persian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, artistic director and curator at the 3.19.27(2) Foundation. Matt Forouzandy and his partner Kyle Beattie founded the organization in 2019, while living in Vienna. They moved it to Toronto in 2020 and have been living and working there since. Matt’s award winning drawing at the first Tehran International Contemporary Drawing Exhibition, held at theTehran Museum of Contemporary Art in 1999, marked the return of queer art in the Iranian art scene, after the Islamic revolution in Iran. Matt joined PaykanArtCar as our curator in October of 2020.
